Premier League player who was arrested over sex tape allegations released - Report

An unidentified English Premier League player who was arrested by the police during a training session on suspicion of recording a sex tape without the person’s permission has been granted bail, as reported by The Sun.

The report indicated that the player in question is said to be an international who was interrogated by the police for six hours following the allegations.

One of the footballer’s teammates noted that they initially thought the incident was a joke, only to realise it was a serious case after the questioning was done.

“A lot of stars initially thought it was a prank when two uniformed officers strode onto the pitches during training. Everyone was in disbelief. Players were open-mouthed. No one was sure what was going on,” one source told The Sun.

The report mentioned that the player’s phones and other devices were seized by the police to be inspected for video footage and recordings.

The police spokesperson told The Sun that the accused was released due to inadequate evidence.

“A man in his 20s was arrested at an address on suspicion of voyeurism. It was determined no further action would be taken due to insufficient evidence,” he said according to The Sun.

The UK media outlet noted that a woman reported the said player to the police for allegedly filming their sexual encounter without her consent.

The woman was reportedly asked to leave the player’s house after the incident and told friends that “she felt violated and humiliated.”
