Premier League referee, David Coote, has been suspended for expressing his hate and prejudice against Liverpool and former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
In a viral video, Coote was heard using foul words to denigrate Klopp and Liverpool.
Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL) released a statement on Monday, November 11, announcing that Coote has been suspended with an investigation underway.
"David Coote has been suspended with immediate effect pending a full investigation. PGMOL will be making no further comment until that process is complete."
According to UK outlet The Times, the outcome of the investigation could end the 42-year-old referee's career.
The situation has led Liverpool fans to dig into how David Coote has affected the team in previous games with dubious calls.
David Coote, a FIFA-listed referee, began his professional career in 2010 when he officiated in the National League division in England. He was later promoted to the Championship in 2010, where he officiated for eight years before being promoted to the Premier League.
He became a FIFA-listed referee in 2022 and officiated the 2023 English Football League Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle United.
