The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met Ghanaian football administrator Nana Yaw Amponsah at the training grounds of Petrocub to congratulate him on the historic league title won with the Moldovan club.
The President of Moldova congratulated Nana Yaw Amponsah and Petrocub on winning the Moldovan Super Liga.
The former CEO of Asante Kotoko was appointed as President of Petrocub in January 2024 and has been instrumental in the club's success.
His leadership has seen the club rise to new heights, ending Sheriff Tiraspol's eight-year reign at the top of the league.
This feat presents a golden opportunity for Petrocub to compete on Europe's big stage, the UEFA Champions League, for the first time.
Nana Yaw Amponsah's journey in football administration has been marked by a series of impressive achievements.
He previously led Kotoko to win the Ghana Premier League in 2022.
He also founded the Division One side Phar Rangers and ran for the presidency of the Ghana Football Association in 2019.
Beyond his role as President, Nana Yaw Amponsah is also the majority shareholder of Petrocub.
