THE Hornets today secured the signing of 23-year-old free agent midfielder Prince Buaben on a two-year deal.
The Ghanaian international was a mainstay of Dundee United's midfield last season in the Scottish Premier League, making 43 appearances and scoring three goals.
During his four years at Tannadice, he made 142 appearances and Buaben won the Scottish Cup in 2010 with the club.
'The Prince' - as United's fans dubbed him - joined the Scottish outfit from renowned Dutch side Ajax in 2007. However, Buaben was unable to turn out for the Netherlands giants as he did not have the necessary residential status to obtain the required work visa when a full-time contract was offered.
He returned to his native Ghana and due to his family's UK status he obtained a valid visa, which led to a recommendation to then Dundee United manager Craig Levein.
Buaben joined as a trialist at the start of pre-season training in 2007 and was subsequently offered a full-time contract at Tannadice.
The out-of-contract player has attracted attention from clubs in England, Scotland and abroad but it's the Hornets who've sealed the deal on the promising midfielder.
Prince Buaben, has described himself as a 'box-to-box' midfielder who likes to get in the faces of the opposition.
Speaking to watfordfc.com just moments after penning a two-year deal with the club, he was glad to get his future sorted.
Describing himself as a player, he said: "I'm a box to box man - I can play defensive midfield as well as right-back and ring wing if I have to.
"I just want to help the team to win games.
"I like to get in people's faces and I don't like to give the opposition time on the ball.
