Ghana’s Black Princesses suffered a 1-0 loss to Equatorial Guinea in Malabo in the first leg of the final qualifier for the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.
The hosts fetched the only goal of the match in the 37th minute through skipper, Cristelle.
With the slim away defeat, the Princesses will be expected to edge past their opponents in order to complete a third straight appearance at the World stage in August this year.
The return leg will be honoured in Accra in a fortnight’s time.
Four teams including South Africa and Nigeria are chasing the two slots reserved for the continent at the World Cup.
