A five-member Board of Trustees has been formed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), to over the management of a special endowment fund for retired footballers.

The committee will be headed by Professor Kwame Karikari, formerly of Media Foundation for West Africa, with veteran coach and former Black Stars player Ibrahim Sunday as the vice chairman.

Other members of the committee include; Eric Ashitey, lawyer Kweku Eyiah, a member of the Executive Committee of the GFA and Seth Doe Agyin.

The newly formed Board of Trustees has been tasked to oversee the raising of funds and also manage the funds to cater for retired footballers.

The fund is one of the measures aimed at taking care of the needs of retired footballers, most of whom have been battling with access to basic needs.
