Professor Dodoo is a failure - Albert Nugbeze

Former Chief Athletics coach, Albert Nugbeze, has described incumbent president of the Ghana Olympic Committee(GOC) and Ghana Athletics Association(GAA), Professor Francis Dodoo as a ‘complete failure’ as Ghana’s Olympic dream was shattered, following a woeful showing of its athletes.

None of the 16-member contingent failed to progress from the first round of their respective disciplines’ qualifiers, summing Ghana’s participation at the mega sports event as ‘miserable’.

The former 400m sprinter lamented on how visionless the current administration has been, resulting in its failure to plan for the games after a similar horrific performance in London four years ago.

He said ; “these performances by our athletes clearly demonstrate how the GOC and the GAA didn’t plan for the mega sporting event, Professor Dodoo has failed in all endeavors regarding Ghana’s participation.

“He lacks foresight and vision, all preparation towards the game was done in the last minutes which does not help the team spirit.”

He added that the lack of camping by the country’s athletes contributed to their abysmal output, which was not technically advisable had they really wanted to compete in Rio.
