Queens Face South Africa Tomorrow

Tuesday's second semi-final between Ghana's Black Queens and the hosts, South Africa should keep the fans on the edge of their seats throughout the match, which might go beyond 90 minutes.

Both sides clashed in the inaugural Nations Cup in Nigeria two years ago in the group stage with the Black Queens outclassing the Banyana Banyanas 4-0.

South Africa will be seeking to avenge that defeat in Abeoukuta and the Banyanas could not have been more pleased that Ghana are their semi-final opponents.

The hosts won their group to make sure a clash with favourites, Nigeria is avoided in the semis, but it does not guarantee the Banyanas an easy passage to their first final.

Amazingly, Ghana have speedily discovered their rhythm following poor preparation and a sluggish start against Nigeria in the opening game, recovering to score five goals without reply against Morocco and Cameroon.

Imagine what they said about the Olympics.
