Black Queens coach Yusif Basigi says his side plans defeating Ethiopia in the final round of the Africa Women’s Championship (AWC) to gain a slot for the tournament in Namibia in October.
Coach Basigi, who masterminded his side’s 6-0 aggregate routing of Burkina Faso to reach the final stage of the qualifiers, said: “Our aim now is to defeat Ethiopia and qualify for the tourney and with the grace of God we shall be in the finals.”
“Ethiopia play good football but we have played them before and we know how to face them because I think their style of play has not changed.
“The game goes as you meet your opponent and when we meet a top opposition the style and approach will definitely be different,” he told the GNA.
Ghana missed out on the last edition of the tournament, their first since the inception of the biannual tournament in 1998.
