Accra, Dec. 5, GNA-Nicholas Railston-Brown and his partners, Rene Briggs, Beatrice Anderson and Frederick Skein became the proud winners of the first Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited Invitational Golf Championship ,played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday.
The group returned a net score of 45 to win on count-back against Dave Edwards, partnered by Dave Martin, Beatrice Hampton and Dough Mac-Arthurth.
Garvin Brown and his, partners, John Yates, Kwesi Tumi and Jackie Martin took the third position with 46 net in the competition, which was also played as a farewell to Mr Bill Thomas, Managing Director of the bank who leaves for South Africa after a five-year service in the country.
The Longest Drive on Hole 17 in the Ladies Division was won by Jane |Brown ,while the Men's category went to Sam Akakpo. Mr Samuel Adetola, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club, praised the bank for their support to the club and called on other corporate bodies to help develop the sport.
Mr Bill Thomas, the out-going Managing Director pledged the bank's commitment and support for the club in the ensuing years.
