Raji to go unopposed as GHALCA prepares to go to polls

Accra, Feb. 13, GNA – Alhaji Ali Braimah Raji, interim Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) will, barring any unforeseen circumstances go unopposed as the Chairman of the Association as they prepare for polls on Thursday, February 16, at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium.

Alhaji Raji, who was expected to receive a tough opposition from Vincent Sowah Odotei, Chief Executive of King Faisal Football Club saw the later withdrawing from the race on January 26, 2012.

Nana Sarfo Kantanka Oduro – Berekum Chelsea, Jones Alhassan Abu – Real Tamale United (RTU) and Isaac Wilberforce Koomson of Starke FC will vie for the Vice Chairmanship position.

A statement from the secretariat of GHALCA copied to GNA Sports, said Cecilia Mensah of Bofoakwa Tano and George Amoako of Ashantigold will contest for the position of Treasurer, whilst Albert Aryeetey Commey – Accra Hearts of Oak, John Ansah – Ebusua Dwarfs, Gabby Musah-Tudu Mighty Jets and Alex Ackumey of New Edubiase will be going for the single slot as Premiership Representative on the Executive Board.

For the Division One League slot, Francis Anom of Okwawu United FC, Fredrick Nimamko – King Solomon FC, Kofi Poku- BA Stars and Oloboi Commodore of SP Mirren FC will battle for the single slot.

Samuel Aboabire - Mitdjyland FC and Martin Owusu of KK Adonteng Stars FC are vying for the Division Two League slot.
