A member of the Ghana Football Association's Executive Council, Dr. Randy Abbey, has criticised the Ministry of Youth and Sports for neglecting the Ho Sports Complex.

Despite a 4 million USD investment in its construction and hosting the 2023 Independence Day celebration, the complex has deteriorated.

The host of the Good Morning Ghana show on Metro TV questioned why the stadium was allowed to decay after being built with public money.

He also expressed concern over the lack of accountability for those responsible for its upkeep.

“The Ho Sports Complex, which was used for Independence Day last year, has now turned into this state, even though it was built with taxpayers' money. The decision to put the facility there was made by some people who did the needs assessment and everything, but whatever went into it, we do not know.

"I am saying that how do you sink millions of dollars into something like this, and just after a year, this is what happened, and people still have their jobs?” he fumed.

The current state of the Ho Sports Complex is in tatters as weeds have outgrown covering most of the field.
