Prominent sports journalist, Dan Kwaku Yeboah, has made some revelations concerning the Black Stars management committee and those controlling the team's affairs.
He disclosed that a member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council, Dr. Randy Abbey, is now playing the role of the chairman of the Black Stars management committee.
Yeboah stated that GFA Vice President, Mark Addo, is the one recognized by the public to be doing so. However, Dr Randy Abbey is now the one handling the affairs of the team.
The Peace FM sports journalist noted that Dr Randy’s role as the chairman of the Black Stars management committee has not been announced publicly due to reasons best known to the GFA officials.
“Most of the recent Black Stars matches, Randy has been with the team. An insider has told me that Randy is now playing the role of the Black Stars management committee chairman, just that they can’t make it public for reasons best known to them,” he said in Twi while speaking on Peace FM.
He revealed this information following the Black Stars’ disastrous performance against Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, losing 2-0 in the return leg in Libya.
After four matches played, Ghana is third in Group F with two points, Sudan is in second place with seven points, while Angola leads with twelve points.
The Black Stars will travel to face Angola and play the last match against Niger in Ghana in November 2024.
