Real Sportive Hold Hearts

Tema Real Sportive played one of their best games in recent times to hold champion club, Accra Hearts of Oak to a 1-1 drawn game in their GT Premier league match at the Tema Sports Stadium.

After referee Joe Debrah of Kumasi signalled the two teams into action, it was Sportive who were business-like and were a thorn in the flesh of the champions and went ahead to make the first attempt at goal but Enzme Mends terrific shot was parried to corner in the third minute but it was wasted. Hearts repulsed the attack and snatched the leader when a free-kick taken by Bernard Don Bortey was headed home by Prince Tagoe in the 12th minute.

Urged on by their vociferous fans to probe for more goals, Hearts nearly swallowed the bitter pill when Sam Ocran of Sportive capitalized on a defensive blunder but found his shot missing the target narrowly in the 17th minute.

Hearts' Wisdom Agblexo nearly increased the tally for his side in the 25th minute but the striker fumbled in front of goal for a welcome goal kick for Sportive.

Sportive who appeared not perturbed by the incessant pressure of Hearts came into the picture once again and managed to snatch the equalizer through centre forward Fuseini Nuhu, a minute in injury added on time too end the first half. Back from the recess, both teams threw everything into the game and made a number of substitutions but try as they did they could not find the net as erratic shooting upfront by the attackers became the order of the day till the referees final whistle.
