Tema, Jan. 7, GNA - Tema Real Sportive started the second round of the GT Onetouch Premier League on a bright note when they defeated Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord by a lone goal (1-0) in their match at the Tema Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The match, which started on a fast note, saw Feyenoord penetrating the defence of Sportive to force the home side to concede two corner-kicks in the 15th and 25th minutes but wasted both chances. Real Sportive gradually warmed into the game and repulsed the attack by shooting from all angles but Nuhu Alhassan who had a good chance to score in the 35th minute shot feebly into the waiting hands of goalkeeper Dauda Jawula in goal for Feyenoord.
The two teams continued to fight hard for the opener but failed to find the target due to poor shooting upfront that robbed any of the sides from getting any goal till the end of the first half. Substitute Gafaru Mohammed of Real Sportive broke the deadlock in the 60th minute when he scored from a free-kick awarded his side.
Feyenoord threw everything into the game in search of the equalizer, but Sportive's goalie, James Nannor who won the best player award, stood firm to deny them of any goal to end the proceedings to an end.
