Following an industrious sixteen years service as a referee, Ashanti Region-based E.R Biney has retired from the profession.

Biney in a letter to the Referees Association of Ghana indicated his desire to truncate his love for the profession on personal reasons.

Biney joined the refereeing profession in 2000 and was promoted to the elite division in the 2006/07 season.

He later acquired a FIFA badge as one of the few elite referees in the country.

The week 14 Ghana Premier League clash between Ebusua Dwarfs and Aduana Stars at the Robert Mensah Stadium was his last game.

He was the fourth official in that match.
