Amazulu FC have strengthened their goalkeeping lineup by signing experienced Ghana international goalkeeper Richard Ofori on a free transfer, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm

The former Black Stars shot-stopper, who was released by Orlando Pirates at the end of the 2023-24 season, brings a wealth of experience to the South African Premier League side.

Ofori, having previously played for Maritzburg United and Orlando Pirates, is no stranger to South African football, where he achieved success with three MTN8 trophies and two Nedbank Cup wins during his time at Pirates.

At Amazulu, Ofori will compete for the number one spot with Bafana Bafana's Veli Mothwa, alongside Olwethu Mzimela and Andile Mbajwa, as the team looks to build a strong squad for the 2024-25 season.

The 30-year-old's signing is expected to provide solid competition and depth in the goalkeeping department.

Ofori’s last appearance for the Ghana national team was during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

He is scheduled to undergo a medical examination before officially joining his new club in Durban, signalling a fresh chapter in his career in South African football.
