Riga extends Levante stay

Middlesbrough have missed out on Mustapha Riga after he penned a new and improved contract with Levante.

Boro, along with four other Premiership clubs, were tracking the Ghana-born wide-man this summer and reportedly bid for his services.

However, despite previously revealing a desire to play in England, Riga has now opted to pen a fresh deal with the Liga outfit.

The 25-year-old former Vitesse Arnhem man is now tied to Levante until June 2012 ensuring his stay for the foreseeable future.

Riga is a firm fans' favourite with Levante's supporters and his desire to stay with the club is likely to boost his popularity even further.
