Disappointed Accra Hearts of Oak fans have expressed anger following the team's loss to Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Democracy Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 17, 2024.

Some fans blamed the Phobia players for the defeat, criticizing their poor performance and calling for improvements.

Others were upset with the officiating, claiming that the referee made unfair decisions, including questionable offside calls.

In a video shared by Saddick Adams on YouTube, the frustrated Hearts of Oak supporters expressed their dissatisfaction.

One fan said in Twi, "Kotoko has beaten us consecutively, including in the Democracy Cup. Our team is still not good enough. The players should play wholeheartedly or leave. We need more keepers, defenders, and strikers to strengthen the team."

Another fan added, "The referee started rigging the match from the beginning. I believe the authorities are behind this to get us out. The referee's officiating was unthinkable, with dubious offside and other decisions."

A Phobia supporter noted, "The Kotoko coach is doing well despite having just three old players. So, I think it's not the referee or the coach's fault. The defeat was deserved."

This reaction followed Kotoko's 2-1 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2024 Democracy Cup, organized to celebrate the country's democracy.

Justice Blay scored a penalty for Kotoko, Asamoah Boateng Afriyie equalized for the Phobians in the second half, and Peter Amidu secured the win for Kotoko by capitalizing on a defensive error by Hearts of Oak.
