Right to Dream Academy have won the U17 version of the 2014 Gothia Cup by defeating Swedish side Mjällby 7-6 on penalties on Saturday in Gothenburg.
Both sides settled for a 0-0 draw in regulation time and the winner had to be decided via penalty shootout.
Gareth Henderby’s side converted all five spot-kicks and then needed a seventh one to win after their goalkeeper saved Mjällby’s kick.
Right to Dream Academy booked a place in the final with a 4-1 win over Finnish side HJK Helsinki.
The Old Akrade based side becomes the second Ghanaian side to win the Gothia Cup after Asante Kotoko’s triumph in 1997.
