Inter Allies have named striker Ropapa Mensah as Best Player in the first-half of the Ghana Premier League as the club finished 13th on the log with 15 points.

The 18-year-old shrugged off competitions from midfielder Emmanuel Nettey and defender Gockel Ahortor in an online poll conducted by the club between May and June.

Ropapa amassed 42 percent of 2,500 total votes cast while Nettey and Ahortor picked 30 percent and 28 percent of the votes respectively.

"Kwame Osei, Ropapa Mensah, Gockel Ahortor and Emmanuel Nettey emerged top for the penultimate poll [ after voting was opened for all the first team players]. Osei got dropped on the way as Ropapa, Nettey and Ahortor stood for the final and Ropapa finally emerged the winner as the fans decided," a club statement said.

Ropapa thanked the fans for picking him as the best player among the rest and assured them of an improved performance when the second-half kicks off on June 26.

"I feel happy because this award means a lot of people follow my performances in the league and love it," Ropapa told Goal.

"I'm hoping for an injury free moment when the league resumes and I assure the fans that I'll work very hard. I aim at working beyond what I did previously with the help of my team-mates to finish the season on high," he added.

Ropapa played 13 out of the 15 matches in the first round and scored with two goals. He was named the club’s player of the month for February.
