Rowing Association of Ghana in the offing

Accra, Sept. 19, GNA - The National Sports Council (NSC) in consultation with the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) is in the process of forming a new association dubbed, the Rowing Association of Ghana (RAG).

This follows the notification of the NSC about the existence of the Africa Rowing Federation (FASA) as well as plans to introduce rowing competitions in the next All Africa Games to be held in Algeria. A statement signed by Hamid Issaka, Public Relations Officer (PRO) on behalf of the Acting Chief Executive of the Council copied to the GNA Sports said the Federation is an active member of the Supreme Council for Sports in Africa and is recognised in over 19 African countries. The statement therefore called on committed and result-driven individuals for discussions that would lead to the formation of the association.

It said that interested persons should contact the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the NSC or the Councils' Regional offices for further information.

The Council therefore calls for the cooperation and support of the public to develop and promote rowing sports in the country.
