The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) has announced the change in venue for the clash between the Bafana Bafana and the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
The two top countries are placed in Group C of the qualifiers to the next edition of the continental showpiece alongside Sudan as well as Sao Tome and Principe.
After changing the date of the match from November 15 to 14, the venue has also been changed from the Accra Sports Stadium to the Cape Coast Stadium.
Confirming the news to the South Africans, SAFA posted on their website: “The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Ghana and Bafana Bafana has been moved from the capital Accra to Cape Coast”.
“The clash is scheduled for Thursday, 14 November 2019 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium at 19h00”.
SAFA added. “After the match, both teams will be flying out for their second match of the qualifiers – the Black Stars will be away to Sao Tome e Principe on Monday, 18 November, while Bafana Bafana will host Sudan at Orlando Stadium on Sunday, 17 November”.
Both countries will be hoping to win their first game to boost their chances of finishing top of the table at the end of the qualifiers.
