The Chief Executive Officer of Dreams Football Club, Kurt Okraku claims outgone Youth and Sports Ministers from the offices of the Sports Ministry because they lacked the knowledge to lead the sports fraternity.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has had about eight ministers since 2009.

The latest join the ministry is Nii Lantey Vanderpuje, a former boxing promoter athlete and sports journalist.

He was appointed last week to replace Dr Mustapha Ahmed, who stayed in the office for only eight months.

Kurt Okraku believes the constant changes in the sports Ministry is due to the kindergarten decisions they take.

“Sports Ministers are appointed by the presidency, my singular opinion is that it’s been poor if it comes to the appointment of Sports Ministers,” Kurt Okraku told Radio Ghana.

The former Wassaman Managing Director said that the sports, specifically, football is a field for only specific people, and that, when a square peck is kept in a round hole, they can never take the right decisions.

“Football is a specialized industry, you need people with the requisite skills and knowledge, when you bring people with no connection to the industry they will fumble.

“You bring people with no history, connection, love and passion they will come and take kindergarten decisions,” He said.

Kurt also stated that the sports ministry has finally found the right person in Nii Lantey Vanderpuje to steer the affairs of the country’s sport to the promise land.
