Sports journalist Saddick Adams has chastised persons who displayed their ballot after casting their vote during the Special Voting exercise on December 2, 2024.
He fumed that it is unprofessional for security services, journalists, and election officials involved in the Special Voting process to share their ballots on social media.
The Angel FM journalist bemoaned the silence of law enforcement agencies, including the Electoral Commission, for not taking action against the act.
“Special voters are taking pictures of their ballots and sharing them. They are predominantly from Security Services, Journalists, Election Officials, and other ‘special service providers.’ A category of people who know or ought to know better. Just imagine what could be?
“Looks like silence has been better because it has become apparent that when it comes to party politics, the knowledge, common sense, and whatever level of education is useless to some persons,” he wrote on X.
This comes after some individuals displayed their ballots on social media during the Special Voting exercise to announce the candidates they voted for.
Two ballots spotted on X showed two ballot papers with the persons voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who occupied the number one position.
The act has been condemned vehemently by social media users who believe it undermines the integrity of elections in Ghana.
Meanwhile, the EC is yet to speak on the issue and address public concerns.
