Ashanti Gold have signed striker Sadick Adams from regional rivals Asante Kotoko in a two-year deal, both clubs have confirmed.

The 28-year-old was regarded as surplus to requirements by coach Paa Kwesi Fabin despite ending last season as Kotoko's topscorer in all competitions, including the hat-trick against Hearts of Oak in the FA Cup.

The former Ghana U17 star was tagged as the main person behind a group of players who allegedly planned a mutiny against Fabin after the coach opted to use several youngsters ahead of them.

Although, Sadick has denied such suggestions, he is optimistic of helping Ashanti Gold to win titles this season.

"Whatever happened in the past remains with the past. This is a new opportunity and I'm ready to make good use of it," Sadick said.

"Ashanti Gold are only few points away from the top of the log, so I will do my best in order to help the club to probably win the title and prove a point.

"I'm grateful to everyone at Kotoko for the opportunity to represent them and I'm happy that we won the FA Cup trophy within this period after several failed attempts. I wish them all the best," he added.

Sadick, who began his career with Ashanti Gold between 2004 and 2007 before joining Atletico Madrid, has become the second player from Kotoko aside Eric Donkor to join Ashanti Gold in the ongoing transfer window.
