Samartex management member Alex Ayamba has revealed that the club is still awaiting a response from midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh's manager amidst an ongoing transfer saga.
Despite Keyekeh's recent appearance for Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars FC, Samartex maintains that no official transfer has been made.
The Ghanaian club, which won the 2023/24 Premier League with Keyekeh as their captain, expected the midfielder to renew his contract, which ended on July 31.
"Keyekeh assured us he would renew his contract," Ayamba told Peace FM, as monitored by Footballghana.com. "His manager requested proposals, which we sent, but we've received no reply. Keyekeh did not report back when we resumed on July 1."
The situation remains unresolved as Samartex seeks clarity on their captain's future. Samartex is currently preparing for the upcoming 2024/25 Ghana Premier League and their maiden campaign in the CAF Champions League. The team also hosted and won the 2024 Nsenkyire Cup competition, where new signings were introduced to their passionate supporters.
