Serie A side Sampdoria are monitoring Ghana international Yussif Raman Chibsah whose contract with Sassuolo runs until June 2016. ` `

The 22-year-old midfielder was key to Sassuolo’s promotion to the Italian second tier two seasons ago, however, his playing time has been reduced since then, making only eight Serie A appearances in the 2014/ 2015 season.

According to Italian sports website Tuttomercatoweb.com, Sampdoria are keen on signing Chibsah and are expected to hold talks with the Neroverdi in the coming days.

Sassuolo coach Eusebio De Francesco has lost interest in the player and would be willing to offload him, according to reports.

Chibsah could be a replacement for fellow Ghanaian Afriyie Acquah who is likely to depart Sampdoria for Torino in the ongoing transfer window.

Considered as one of the best youth players in Italy during his time at Juventus in 2011/2012, Chibsah has lost considerable form over the years, playing in just eleven matches for his side in all competitions last season.

Bologna and Serie B side Cesena are also interested in recruiting the midfielder, but the prospect of playing at the top level could make him opt for Sampdoria.

Chibsah has won two international caps for Ghana.
