Ghana’s number one cyclist Samuel Anim announced his arrival at the ongoing Tour of Benin with an opening victory in the first stage.
Samuel Anim won the first stage of the Benin tour ahead of cyclist from neighboring Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and France. The exercise forms part of team Ghana’s preparation for the upcoming All African Games in Congo Brazzaville.
The Ghanaian number one took an early lead at the first stage of the campaign, but surprisingly held off late competition from other cyclists to give himself a chance of lifting the yellow jersey.
The Ghanaian cyclist team led by the experienced Samuel comprises Isaac Sackey, Emmanuel Sackey, Anthony Boakye, Peter Osei and Abdul Rahman.
The exercise forms part of the cycling team’s preparation for the 2015 All African Games in Congo Brazzaville.
The team had already competed in Tour Du Togo, Tour of Ivory Coast, and tour Du DR Congo. The competition continues into its second stage on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 with the buoyed Samuel gunning for supremacy in Benin.
