Cameroon FA President Samuel Eto'o is reportedly gearing up to run for the CAF presidency in the upcoming elections scheduled for March 25, 2025, as per Kick442.com.

Although Eto'o has not made an official announcement, there are strong indications that he is preparing to enter the race, seeking advice from former CAF President Ahmad Ahmad.

In addition to his potential CAF bid, Eto'o is reportedly preparing his trusted advisor, Mongue Nyamsi, to succeed him at Fecafoot, potentially favouring Nyamsi over current first vice president Celine Eko.

Current CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe is being encouraged to seek a second term after his unopposed election in 2021.

Despite the buzz surrounding Eto'o's candidacy, some football stakeholders have expressed concerns about his eligibility due to recent controversies.

CAF recently fined Eto'o for ethics breaches, which may impact his presidential aspirations.
