Ghana international Samuel Tetteh is unhappy with local media for being reported to be set for a long-term injury layoff.

Reports in Ghana claimed the Red Bull Salzburg attacker suffered a "serious knee injury" in pre-season training and could possibly have a surgery, which could leave him on the sidelines for months.

An obviously incensed Tetteh took to social media on Thursday to debunk the reports. Although he confirmed picking up an injury, he suggested that the setback is nothing but 'minor'.

"To the false report out there about me, yes I was injured but I’m not out for months, neither going for surgery," the 21-year-old tweeted.

"Already started training and looking to be fit for the upcoming games!!

"Please get your facts right before posting false news."

Tetteh is hoping to convince Salzburg manager Marco Rose for a place in his set-up after spending last season out on loan.

He made 16 appearances - all starts - and scored five times to help LASK Linz finish fourth in the Austrian Bundesliga last term.

The former Wafa ace was a member of Ghana's side at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
