Sanni Wins 5000m Energizer Walk

Ahmed Tijani Sanni of the Ghana Armed Forces (Navy) has won the 5000m walk which was organized by the Visco walking club at the Accra sports stadium. The walk which saw elite walkers like; Andrew Kodjo Tukpe, Adjei Boateng, and Michael Osei Boateng.The rest were, Robert Nelson Annim, Richard Arthur, and Fred Opoku,started at exactly 8:30 a.m.

The above mentioned names were in full gear at the shot of the gun. Their lead was however short-lived as the likes of Atta Bright, Eric Kwabena Nuamah, and Prince Frimpong begun to tear away, for the boys to be separated from the men.Ahmed Tijani then used his experience to advantage and emerged as the eventual winner.

Addressing the walkers, Miss Mary Brew, an executive member of the Visco walking club congratulated the walkers for their splendid performance. She indicated that the club is fully aware of the numerous difficulties that they are going through even as the preparation towards the World cup in 2006 has kicked started.
