Two Ghanaian boxers, Sarfo Tyson and Mohammed Akrong, are billed to fight in Finland on March 31 as they bid to up their stakes for respective world title pushes.
Kumasi based Sarfo Tyson hopes he can gain the needed international exposure in his quest for world title glory when he faces local hero Edis Tatli on March 31 at the Barona Areena, Espoo, Finland with the experienced Akrong fighting unbeaten Niko Jokinen on the same bill, same night.
Sarfo Tyson, the Interim WBO Africa champion will be fighting outside Ghana for the first time against the also unbeaten Tatli (16-0, 3 KOs) as he seeks to announce his credentials to international boxing on the bill promoted by Pekka Maki (P3 Boxing Oy)
“There comes a time in a man’s life when you have to take the bull by the horn. I’m not getting any younger so I’ve to take opportunities like these now if I want to achieve my dream of becoming a world champion.
“I’m training always and I can assure my fans that I am ready to fight my way to the top. I want to be a world champion,” Sarfo Tyson (14-4, 9 KOs) has exclusively told ALL SPORTS.
Tyson is also shrugging aside the significance of his lack of fight experience outside this country, maintaining that his vast experience, albeit locally, will be enough to take him through in Finland.
“There is always a first and even though I admit it won’t be easy, my professional experience will take me through. I’ve fighting for over ten years and I think I can withstand the pressure in Finland,” a confident Sarfo Tyson insists.
The boxers to be accompanied by trainer Joseph Awudu Nelson and Matchmaker Laud Amihere, are expected to arrive in Finland on March 27 for the March 31 date whilst returning back home to Ghana on April 1st.
