Ghana defender Hans Adu-Sarpei has gone absent without leave from the Black Stars camp ahead of their joint 2010 Nations Cup/World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on 8 June.
The Bayern Leverkusen player is said to be furious with the technical team's decision to play locally-based Harrison Afful ahead of him in the opening qualifier against Libya last Sunday.He refused to join the team to South Africa and is yet to communicate his whereabout to the Black Stars' management committee.
Sarpei, capped 23 times for Ghana,recovered from an ankle injury he sustained close to the end of the German Bundesliga season.
There is not been an official statement from the Ghana Football Association explaining the player's decision.
Also reported to be furious with the Black Stars technical handlers is Kofi Amponsah,who turned down an invitation to join the team for the qualifiers.
