Impilo Ghana FC will engage the national U 20 football team, the Black Satellites in a game to be played at the PRESEC Park, Legon on Thursday in memory of the late Jordan Anagblah, Vice President of the Ghana Football Association.
The 55 year old passed away last week in Accra and Thursday marks the one week celebrations of the popular football administrator.
Hundreds of football fans are expected to throng the Legon PRESEC Park on Thursday afternoon to witness this encounter which would see the Impilo Ghana team, feature some members of the Ghana U 20 side that won the FIFA Coca Cola World Cup in 2009.
That squad had Mr. Anagblah as chairman of the Management Committee under whose leadership Ghana reigned supreme in Africa and the world.
The likes of Dominic Adiyiah, Daniel Opare, Andre Ayew, David Ardy, Bright Addai and Joseph Addo were all members of that squad and they would be joined by Ben Acheampong (Kotoko), Charles Boateng (France), Isaac Vorsah (Germany), Jordan Ayew (France) and Frank Sowah (Wa All Stars) to play as quest players for Impilo Ghana FC.
Prince Osei, Suraj Rayies, Sumaila Osumanu, Faisal Amadu, Lantei Mills, Bala Mohammed, Sumaila Bubakar and Abdul Gida Rahman, will form the core of the Impilo Ghana side to take on the Satellites.
The current Satellites side is under the tutelage of Orlando Wellington and they are expected to present a blend of local and foreign based players for this game which they consider as part of their preparations for the qualifiers to the African Youth Championships next year.
He would hope his boys would rise up to this task as they face perhaps their biggest test yet in preparations to face Uganda over two legs in July/August in the qualifiers.
The game is also expected to serve as a learning curve for players of the Impilo Ghana side as they continue with the preparations to compete in the Eastern region second division league which is expected to start soon.
Coach Nicholas Addo of Impilo Ghana would observe his boys closely to see how they fare in this game being played in memory of one of Ghana?s most brilliant football administrators in recent times.
