Schalke set to offload Anthony Annan

Schalke's summer clear-out is in full-swing as four more players could depart in addition to the 11 who have already departed.

Veteran Gerald Asamoah, Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan and ex-Lille centre-half Nicolas Plestan are all set to leave the club soon.

Recent reports indicate that China winger Hao Junmin is also on his way out as well, with Hangzhou Greentown leading the chase.

"We are on a good path, but we are not finished yet. The next to depart could be Plestan, Annan and Asamoah," Schalke sporting director Hosrt Heldt said to Bild.

Eleven players have already left Schalke this summer, namely Manuel Neuer to Bayern Munich, Lukas Schmitz to Werder Bremen, Ali Karimi to Persepolis, and Danilo Avelar to Karpaty Lviv.

Angelos Charisteas was released while Ciprian Deac left for Rapid Bucharest, Vassilios Pliatsikas joined Duisburg, Tore Reginiussen moved to Odense, Christian Pander made the switch to Hannover, Marvin Pourie arrived at Silkeborg and Aleksandar Stevanovic signed for Werder Bremen.

Schalke have been fairly busy in the transfer market, bringing in Ralf Fahrmann, Christian Fuchs and Marco Hoger.
