Ghana Premier League side, Liberty Professionals has appointed former deputy Black Stars coach Sellas Tetteh as their substantive coach with his financial commitment yet to be disclosed.

The former Black Stars coach takes over from George Lamptey who resigned after last season with his backroom staff for personal reasons.

Tetteh returned from Sierra Leone after a loan spell to qualify the country to this year’s AFCON in Gabon but failed.

He rose to prominence when he won the 2009 Under-20 World Cup with Ghana’s Black Satellites.

According to club sources, the experienced technical handler is likely to be supported by two of the club’s junior coaches from the U-20 side.

Liberty escaped last season’s relegation by placing 13th on the league table but with the rich experience of coach Tetteh the management of the club are hopeful of winning their maiden league title.
