Sellas got it wrong by dropping Anokye Badu – Antwi

Former B.A. United Chief Executive Ransford Antwi believes that Black Satellites head coach Sellas Tetteh has erred in dropping the club’s defender Stephen Anokye Badu from his provisional 35-man list for the 2015 World Youth Cup.

Antwi, who remains an ardent supporter of B.A. United, took to social media website Facebook to express his misgivings with the decision, noting that Anokye Badu would one day prove the national handlers wrong.

“Anyone who knows the coach should tell him he got it very wrong and I am sure the boy will prove that one day, just as Afriyie Acquah proved (then Black Starlets) coaches Afranie and Frimpong Manso wrong.”

Antwi believes that Anokye Badu, who was part of the Ghana side that finished third at the just ended 2015 African Youth Championships in Senegal, may not have had anyone to lobby for him, adding that his exclusion could help B.A. United, since according to him, he has been the club’s best player this season.

“He is good enough to play for any team under the sun. Maybe he had nobody to lobby for him but Sellas should have sought information about this boy. Maybe his exclusion is a blessing in disguise because he has been our best player by far this season.”
