Senegal coach Abdoulaye Sarr described his team as ?badly organized? and ?passive? in their MTN Africa Cup of Nations Group D defeat to Ghana on Friday.
The Teranga Lions gave a lethargic performance as a fired-up Ghanaian side put themselves right back in the frame for a quarterfinal spot, courtesy of Matthew Amoah?s 13th minutes strike.
?The team did not present any danger to Ghana in the first half,? admitted Sarr.
?They were badly organised and passive. We just weren?t aggressive enough.
?Ghana were more motivated than us.?
Sarr was also full of praise for MTN Man of the Match Stephen Appiah.
?It was difficult to control Appiah, he was very mobile,? said Sarr, whose side must now look to beat Nigeria in their final match.
?It?s not over but we now have to get the points against Nigeria.?
Ghana coach Ratomir Dujkovic, meanwhile, said he had countered Senegal?s attacking threat down the wings, through players like El Hadji Diouf, by telling his full backs to hold their position.
?Unlike against Nigeria, we told both our left and right wing backs to stay put because we knew that Senegal had very strong and speedy strikers,? said Dujkovic.
?They didn?t go forward too many times. We had to be really careful.
?We did well after making changes to our side and we now have a chance to go to the quarterfinals".
