Serie A difficult for young players – Boateng

Italian Under-21 forward of Ghanaian origin Kingsley Boateng has revealed that the Serie A is a very difficult platform for starters.

Boateng joined Nac Breda this summer after a torrid time in Italy with Milan and also Catania where he played last season on loan.

The 20-year-old striker who netted five times in pre-season opened his league goal scoring account last weekend as Nac Breda beat Dordrecht 1-0.

“The adventure in Holland? Even though the weather here is not the best and the language is incomprehensible. It is very good here,” Boateng told GianlucaDiMarzio.

“Here they have many opportunities for young people. If you can play well and even if you are 18-year-old you will play. In Italy it is hard and difficult for youngsters though the Italian league is one level higher than the Dutch. But I could return to Italy in the future as I always try to raise my bar,” he added.

The talented forward was born in Mampong in Ghana but raised in Italy. He has already hinted of his desire to play for Ghana at senior level.
