Ghanaian music icon Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale has set the Ghanaian social media on fire especially among football and music fans by posing in a Hearts of Oak jersey.

The talented singer and songwriter’s gesture on social media has given Hearts of Oak’s drive to popularise their Umbro kits across the world a real shot in the arm.

The Phobians believe Wale’s endorsement will improve their replica sales thus boost revenue generation.

Wale is a massive character on Ghanaian social media space commanding 1.9 million followers on Twitter with a verified handle and has close to 800,000 Facebook page likes. On instagram the multiple-award winning singer dubbed Dancehall King has 2.4 million followers.

Hearts of Oak seem to have lost gas in their drive to push their revenue up through replica sales as they club have failed to continue with a clear and formidable marketing strategy to sustain the sale of the replicas.

Hearts can leverage on the latest endorsement from the artist, who received an honoree award on 11 May 2018, alongside Sizzla, Queen Ifrica, Chronixx, Daddy Fresh, Winning Jah, Jah Cure, Sean Paul, Ben Priest and other personalities at the Obaland Royal Awards in Nigeria, to revive and set new marketing strategies to sell more jersey.

Wale is not the first Ghanaian artist to pose in the famous Hearts of Oak replica as Ghanaian pop singer Kwesi Arthur has previously done so and declared his affection for the 2000 African champions.
