Angola, Jan 14, GNA - In a group which many thought would have seen Tunisia and Cameroon coming out with ease for the quarter finals of the 27th Edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, in Angola, the odds have rather turned against the favourites.

It started with the first group game on Wednesday, when Gabon stunned Cameroon with a lone goal victory scored in the 17th minute through Daniel Cousin.

Many would have thought the tournament favourites will have bounced back with the equalizer but struggled out the remaining minutes of the game without success with the likes of Samuel Eto'o Fills and Achiles Emana failing at several attempts at scoring.

Zambia, repeated the same feat when they held highly fancied Tunisia to a one all draw game in the second group D game.

It was a game of equals as the two sides created equal scoring opportunities but failed to covert them.

The score line of the second match leaves the group with Gabon in firm control with three points followed by Zambia and Tunisia whilst Cameroon is stuck at the bottom.

A similar shocker was recorded in group A, where Malawi destroyed Algeria with a 3-1 score line to assume control of the group leaving behind host Angola and Mali who have a point each after a gruelling four all drawn opening game and Algeria at the base of the ladder.
