Ex-Ghana international Sola Ayew wants Kwesi Appiah to show 'courage' and recall in-form Sassuolo forward Kevin-Prince Boateng to the national team.
The 31-year-old is serving an indefinite suspension, four years after he was kicked out of Ghana's camp during a wrecked 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign in Brazil.
Boateng was reported to have verbally insulted coach Kwesi Appiah during a heated team meeting.
The former AC Milan star looks to have completely cut his ties with Ghana by removing his affiliation with the national team from his official Twitter account.
However, his recent superlative displays in the Serie A with Sassuolo has ignited talks of a potential return to the national team.
And former Ghana Under-17 and 23 star Sola Ayew, wants Kwesi Appiah to man up and recall him into the team.
"It's time for Kevin-Prince Boateng to be given a national team call-up due to his form at Sassuolo," he told Takoradi-based Aseda FM
"Even though he has been absent from the Black Stars for a while, Kwesi Appiah should be courageous enough to invite him."
The suspended Ghana international is on cloud nine, churning out impressive performances since joining from German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
Coach Kwesi Appiah has been accused of lacking the managerial competence to manage the egos of star players in his team.
Captain Asamoah Gyan, brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew, as well as Mubarak Wakaso and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, have been left out of his recent call-ups to fuel widespread speculations.
