Nana Yaw Kesseh, a reporter with Peace FM, has questioned the relevance of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey to the Black Stars.

Nana Yaw Kesseh is not impressed with the performance of Thomas Partey, questioning his lack of interest in the Black Stars.

Nana Yaw Kesseh believes that Thomas Partey has consistently failed to deliver for the Black Stars.

According to him, while Partey is rated among the best midfielders in the world, his importance for the national team is negligible.

“I’m not perturbed when Partey is not called up for Ghana games. Let’s analyze his Black Stars game and point out one single game he was impressive for Ghana.

“When Yaya Toure was at the pinnacle of his career at club level, he was excelling with the national team too. Partey is one of the best pivots in world football now, but you can hardly point out a single game for us,” he said.

Thomas Partey was absent in the two matches played by Ghana in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in October.

The Arsenal midfielder failed to turn up with the excuse of being unwell despite a request from the Ghana Football Association.

In his absence, the Black Stars drew and lost the two games against Sudan in Ghana and Libya respectively.

The Black Stars drew goalless with Libya at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, before losing to the same team on October 15, 2024.

As a result of those results, the Black Stars are now third in the group with two points from four matches, with Angola and Sudan placing first and second respectively.
