Show your worth or leave - Kotoko CEO to players, coaches

Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, George Amoako Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, George Amoako

Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko George Amoako has issued a warning to the playing body and technical staff to prove their worth or face the axe as they aim to build a winsome team.

Reports emerged in the media that the newly appointed club's chief is looking to replace coach Paa Kwesi Fabin with Yusif Abubakar.

According to the report, George Amoako sees Yusif Abubakar as a better tactician and the fact that he is available for free following his departure from Aduana Stars.

But Mr. Amoako has refuted those claims and backed Paa Kwesi Fabin to excel in the role, though he pointed out that no staff of the Porcupine club is secured.

"I have never said anywhere that Paa Kwasi Fabin is on probation, all I am saying is that for now everyone must prove his worth including the players not spoken particularly about the coach," Amoako told Oyerepa FM.

"I poached him to Kotoko for the first time during Ernst Middendorp's time, I have nothing against him, I will not single out the coach for anything."

"I was operating from outside so you don't come and immediately say he should leave. I'm now in charge, I want to move the team forward, and anyone who can't meet my space won't be retained.

"We will change things and make things efficient. Everyone at the club will have to justify why he or she is paid. No chance for any wastage, no way!
