Information available to the Daily Statesman indicates that the military high command, allegedly acting on the directive of President Mahama, has provided six military men as bodyguards for Ibrahim Mahama, the president's brother, who is a private person.
In addition to this, two SUV military armoured vehicles have been detailed for the use of the president's brother.
Over the weekend, at a political event, dubbed "#iChooseJM, Let's WALK WITH IBRAHIM MAHAMA", orgainsed to solit votes for his brother at New Town, Nima and Maamobi, in the Ayawaso East constituency of the Greater Accra Region, the six military men were stationed around him.
Ibrahim arrived for the campaign event in one of the armoured vehicles with two of the military men, while the other four followed him in another armoured vehicle.
Many people have been wondering if any private person can apply to the military high command and be provided with these facilties, or Ibrahim Mahama has a natural entitlement to the facilities just because he is the president's brother.
