Sky Is The Limit - Michael Asante

FORMER Asante Kotoko midfielder, Michael Asante who is now in the camp of Accra Hearts of Oak has indicated that the sky is the limit after an impressive display against his former cub Kotoko last Sunday at the Sunyani Coronation Park where the Phobians chalked a solitary goal victory over the Porcupine Warriors. Asante who is on the verge of signing for Hearts of Oak says he's happy at the chance he's got to prove himself once again at the camp of the Phobians and hope he will receive the necessary backing from the rank and file of the Phobian fraternity to deliver the goods. “I want the prayers of everyone so as to succeed and ask for the patience of everyone as I re-launch my career with the Phobians” the soft spoken rasta haired told 90 Minutes in an interview.

When asked how he feels to be joining a new club and whether he's really settled into the camp of the Phobians and whether he gets on well with the Hearts players, he replied in the affirmative and said he knew most of the players already as he's played with some of them at the national teams and therefore feels at home. He again intimated that he once worked with new Hearts assistant coach, Abdul Karim Zito during his stint with Kotoko so he has no problem fitting into the scheme of things with the Phobians. Asante who was a fan favourite at Kumasi Asante Kotoko says his dream is to earn a call-up to any of the national teams and thus he's working hard to realize that dream and hope his time with the Phobians will give him the perfect launching pad to impress the national team handlers to earn a call-up.

Meanwhile the Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak will meet today to discuss the way forward for the club, prominent amongst which will be the choice of a new Chief Executive to steer the affairs of the club to regain its past glories after a disappointing outing at the recent Onetouch Top 4 tournament where they ended up as the bottom placed club. Other matters will be the fate of their Bulgarian trainer Mitko Kostadinov Dobrez who has fallen out of favour with some of the Phobian fans and believe he's past his sell by date and must be given the boot.
