Ashantigold Coach Charles Kwabla Akunor is disappointed with his sides defeat to Berekum Chelsea in matchday 15 of the Zylofon Cash Premier League.

The former Ghana Premier League Champions were beaten 1-0 in Berekum, after Stephen Amankona's only goal settled the score.

The miners who began the league strongly are gradually slipping on the table and Coach C.K Akunor insists their latest defeat can be attributed to the lack of creativity in their play.

"I am a bit disappointed but I cannot blame the boys too much. They did what they could. There was much in the game. We did our best but it was good enough today," he said in a post-match interview.

"We came in with the idea to be sound defensively and so we had a lot of men at the back in the first half to look for counter-attack situation, it didn't work and so the second half we got back to our basics where we played sought of 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 formation. It sort of brought in fresh ideas but we weren't too creative," he added.

"It's a match that seemed so difficult for both sides. We did what we could but there wasn't much in it. We had a couple of chances but unfortunately, we couldn't take theme and we conceded that to my understanding we slept in that moment. You know our captain and of course our goalkeeper had to decide who to come out and clear and they had the goal," he concluded.

The miners were top of the table at the beginning of the season, however, their inconsistent run in the last few games has seen them slip to third on the table with an outstanding game to clear.
