Ho Voradep upturned the form guide with a 1-0 victory over Accra Great Olympics in their match at the Ho Sports Stadium. The goal was scored on the dead of full time by center forward, Patrick Ganaku to defuse any extra time in a tightly fought game.

Ghapoha F/C qualified for the one-eighth stage of the ABC/FA national knockout competition when they beat Afienya United 3-0 in their match played at the Tema Sports Stadium. Inside left Sampson Ocran opened the scores for Ghapoha in the 41st minute when his low grounder beat goalkeeper John Adjetey. Ghapoha completely seized control of the game after the recess and it was no surprise when they scored two quick goals in the 66th and 67th minutes through right- half-back Alex Awuah and right winger kwabena Boateng respectively to seal the doom of Afienya.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko called-off the bluff of Amansie United when they whacked the first division club 4-1 in the one-sixteenth national knock-out match at the Kumasi sports stadium. Kotoko had to wait for over 41 minutes before scoring the leader as Amansie, who had vowed to beat Kotoko stood gallantly to ward off the menacing moves of their much experienced opponents. 0kwawu United beat Queen's Park Rangers (QPR) of Kumasi 7-6 on penalties in their knock-out match played at the Prempeh College park in Kumasi. The two teams settled for a 1-1 draw at full-time.

Visiting Suhum Maxbees eliminated Power F/C of Koforidua 3-1 on penalties in their match played at the Koforidua Park. Full time score was 1-1. At Dawu, Dawu Youngsters beat Odupong Heroes 3-0. Abdulai Tahiru opened the scores for Dawu in the second minute through a spot kick while Awudu Adama (55th) and Samuel Tono (80th) completed the rout. In Sunyani. Bofoakwa Tano thrashed visiting Dormaa-Ahenkro Aduana Stars of division one side 3-0 in their played at the Coronation Park. All the goals were scored in the second half, after a dull first session during which the few spectators had nothing to cheer about.

Defending Knockout Champions, Accra Hearts of Oak, beat Okwawu Youngsters 2-0 in their played at the Accra Sports Stadium. Both goals were scored in the second half through Kenneth Sarpong and Stephen Tetteh in the 60th and 90th minutes respectively.
