A viral video of the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, addressing the Black Stars players ahead of their game against Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers has sparked mixed reactions on social media.
During the talks, Okraku entreated them to deliver their best performances in what seems to be a must-win match for the Black Stars.
He warned that players who fail to impress risk not being called up to the Black Stars, as he had informed head coach Otto Addo about it.
In reaction to the video, which has gone viral on social media, some social media users believe that the GFA boss should have been measured with tone in addressing the players regardless of the pressure on the team to win against Sudan.
Others showed their full support for Kurt Okraku in terms of how he spoke to the players, arguing that most of them do not play with passion and commitment, which leads to poor results for the team.
Meanwhile, Ghana will play Sudan on October 10, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars' doubleheader against Sudan will have a major impact on Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON after failing to win their first two games.
Ghana occupy the third position with one point in Group F of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers after two matches.

@Fentuo_ Honestly the players deserved this, especially for drawing against Niger. @kurtokraku God bless you for speaking for all https://t.co/eagygm7RNz’s not as if they play for free so it’s either u give ur best or u out🇬🇭

Fentuo are you aware the Ghana Black Stars is easily the most star studded team in Africa at the moment? And they cannot even beat Niger and Comoros? This was the perfect message. No sugarcoating. This is a man’s game, if you are not fit kindly walk out. No time for emotions

Some Ghanaians will feel his talking on camera to prove a point. You teach and train your children behind the scenes but not trying to prove a fact on the camera.

This will not change any thing. The local players are hungry and ready to die for our motherland 🇬🇭
Fin..what? Chale you & I know what goes on in dressing rooms. The downsides are that it should have been Otto talking, & it shouldn't have been leaked. Taxpayers who pay through their noses deserve a team that is motivated by the jersey & Baba Yara Std, even if its on a bad pitch

This talk for be classified & not made public but abi sake of our usual Ghanaman eye service so they published it. All we want is for the team to win tomorrow, no long talks or excuses. The settings at the camp be too much!🤦🏾😂
